ആര്‍.സി.സി യിലെ കുട്ടികളുടെ ചികിത്സാവിഭാഗം മേധാവി ശ്രീമതി. ഡോ. കുസുമകുമാരിക്ക്‌ അയച്ച കത്തിന് നല്കിയ മറുപടി .
മാന്യമിത്രമേ,
വിശദമായ ഇ മെയില്‍ കൈപ്പറ്റുന്നു.സഹായമനസ്കതയുള്ള നിരവധിപേര്‍ നമുക്കിടയിലുണ്ട്; അവര്‍ക്കാകട്ടെ ജോലിത്തിരക്കിനിടയില്‍ ഇതിനു കാര്യമായ സമയം ലഭിക്കാറുമില്ല. ഇത്തരം,സുമനസ്സുകളെ, സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളെ ഏകോപിപ്പിച്ച് കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ സുസാധ്യമാക്കുക എന്ന ദൌത്യമാണ് ഞാന്‍ കൂടി ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്ന ആശ്രയാ ഏറ്റെടുക്കുന്നത്. സാമ്പത്തിക ഇടപാടുകള്‍ നേരിട്ട് ഏറ്റെടുക്കുന്നതിന് താല്പര്യം കുറവാണെന്നത് സമ്മതിക്കുന്നു.മറിച്ച് സഹായം ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്ന ആളിനോ/ആളുകള്‍ക്കോ വേണ്ടി പരമാവധി വ്യക്തികളെ,സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളെ സമീപിക്കുക,ആ സഹായം 'സുതാര്യമായി' അര്‍ഹമായ ആളിന്/ആളുകള്‍ക്ക്‌ എത്തിക്കുക എന്നതാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാട്. എന്നാല്‍ അടിയന്തിരസാഹചര്യങ്ങളില്‍ ലകഷ്യപ്രാപ്തിക്കായി ആ ദൌത്യവും നിര്‍വഹിക്കാന്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ബാധ്യസ്ഥരാണ്. ആര്‍.സി .സി യുമായി ചേര്‍ന്ന് ഈ സംവിധാനം എങ്ങനെയാണ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുക. ഇതിന് ആര്‍.സി .സി യില്‍ നിലവിലുള്ള സംവിധാനം എന്താണ് ?എന്തൊക്കെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ ഏറ്റെടുക്കാനാകും ?നിലവില്‍ ഏതൊക്കെപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ട്? ഇതിനായി പ്രത്യേക അക്കൌണ്ടുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടോ ? ഈ വിവരങ്ങള്‍ അറിയിച്ചാല്‍ നമുക്ക്‌ തുടങ്ങാമെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. മനുഷ്യനന്മയുടെ ഉറവുകളില്‍ പ്രതീക്ഷ അര്‍പ്പിക്കാം,ഒന്നായി യത്നിക്കാം.

Dear Mr.Pradeep,
I am sorry that I didnt reply earlier.We dont have the software for' malayalam' so I couldnt download your mail directly.After fewdays Mr.Basil gave me the printout of your mail,but I misplaced it.Now again I requested the printout and he gave it to me.So there is considerable time delay.Once again sorry for it.I am happy to know that you have already started some charity work
Regional cancer centre is a comprehensive cancer care centre catering to the needs of whole state and from southern part of tamil nadu. It is an autonomous body under state Govt.We are getting about 550 new patients under the year of 14 in our pediatric section.Most common cancer in children is Acute leukemia, otherwise known as blood cancer.The duration of treatment for a case of acute lymphoblastic leukemia is 2 1/2 years.They have to stay in and around our centre for 4 to 6 months initiall, then only they will be able to go to their places. Average cost may come upto Rs150,000/-for medicines, may go higher depending on the situation. At present govt is supporting these children with Rs.50,000/-, but you know it is not adeqate. More oever they require a lot of support for nonmedical expenditure like food, temporary housing near hospital, blood transfusion,travel etc and many of them will loose their job,and the siblings are left unattended.In other words, the whole family setup is disrupted like anything.ONE OF THE MOST TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE THAT A FAMILY CAN FACE IS DIAGNOSIS OF A CHILD WITH CANCER. FROM THAT POINT, THEIR LIVES WILL NEVER BE SAME AGAIN.Childhood cancer has an impact on all aspects of family life.For this reason we are trying to pay attention to all parts of childs life and to the child's family. No Govt can meet all the requirements of these unfortunate children and their families.This is our humble attempt to help them .Kinginicheppu is the name of our poor patients welfare fund,working under RCC.I have got a big need to help these children to have 'A HOME AWAY FROM HOME' in which we can provide temporary housing for these families when they are getting treatment.It is my Dream.It requires a lot of money but I hope IT WILL BE POSSIBLE' with the help of people like you.
